Illamasqua, a beauty brand known for its bold pigments and theatrical make-up looks wanted a campaign to promote the launch of their new pro make-up brush collection.
Shot during a pandemic, with tight budgets and no option for model photography I was tasked with showcasing their new make-up brush collection in a simplistic yet aspirational way.
After an initial brainstorm, I landed on the campaign message ‘Dare to play’. This line simply and effectively portrayed the brands vibrant personality, encouraging make-up enthusiasts and professionals alike to experiment and play with their make-up looks, using Illamasqua’s new expert brush collection as their key set of tools.
Shot on a black background, we exploded bright, bold powder pigments, and crushed and smudged lipstick balms to create a bank of images that visually demonstrated an artist at work.
